2022

The end of the sailing season 2022 in Latvia

The summer of 2022 was more than busy with a lot of events and local regattas where the East Baltic Coast team was present.

We started our season with the Gulf of Riga Regatta. This regatta is the biggest regatta happening in Latvia.
The first two harbours where the regatta stopped was City Harbour in Riga which was the start harbour of the regatta. And then the second stop was in Salacgriva. That is also where the East Baltic Coast team welcomed all the participants before wishing fair winds when the fleet headed further to Estonia.
This regatta is a must-do every year, so we are already waiting for the next season and the Gulf of Riga Regatta 2023. You can follow the regatta news on their home page – https://gorr.lv/lv

The next regatta, which always comes after the Gulf of Riga Regatta, is the Muhu Vaina regatta in Estonia. In this regatta, there are even more participants and more competitive spirit than in the GoRR. After a week of sailing for participants, the EBC team welcomed participants in the Parnu, where the last days of the regatta were spent.

Between regattas, we visited several boat shows in Poland and Finland. So the next regatta where the EBC team was present with our marketing materials was Riga Cup. Two sunny, not very windy, but still wonderful days were spent in Riga city, at the Riga Sport Sailing Centre.

A week later, we are in the Kurzemes Cup. This regatta is new and happening for the first time. Starting in the Engure and heading to the Roja and then the second leg being from Roja to Mērsrags. We do really enjoyed this regatta and were happy to be there and follow how the sailors are doing.

And then, the most awaited regatta for a lot of Latvian sailors – Autumn Cup. This regatta does give excitement even the week before the event. The participants always love this regatta and that is why it also feels amazing to be present there. We could say that we are proud that we have been supporters and friends of this regatta for several years.
The only sad part, this is one of the last regattas in the sailing season.

Now long winter awaits us, but we know, that soon spring will come and so will sailing season 2023.
